Tegen het centrum van Delft met z’n toeristen en z’n internationale studenten ligt een klassieke volksbuurt, De geerweg. Om deze buurt op de kaart te zetten is er een projectteam in Gesprek gegaan met de buurt. Daar zijn allerlei mooie initiatieven uit ontstaan waaronder een serie muurschilderingen.
Oude en nieuwe buurticonen, elk schilderij had weer een eigen verhaal en een diepe connectie met de bewoners.
Het meest in het oog springende is de smurf, het verhaal daarachter is dat er ooit een jonge buurtbewoner een smurf op de muur had getekend op het meest centraal zichtbare gedeelte van de muur. Heel mooi was ie niet, maar hij hoorde bij buurt en dus hebben we besloten die smurf gewoon een upgrade te geven, wat zeer gewaardeerd werd door de bewoners.
